Grounding (also known as earthing) refers to making any kind of direct contact with the earth's surface.
The earth's surface has a negative charge while our bodies over time build up a positive charge.
Direct contact with the earth (grounding) can even out this positive charge and return the body to a neutral state which is important to combat health problems.
